Sentiments Winter Inspired Work December 2015 Call for Art

Submit works that evoke emotion of the winter season, a memory of a gift received, an experience, or your feelings about the winter. Reflections from a poem, word, or lyric/verse that captures your interpretation of sentiments of the season can be reflected in your submission. One to three works from each applicant will be considered. Applications will be juried and selected. The jury encourages artists to submit work(s) that interprets the theme through their own unique lens and definition of Winter Sentiments.

All two-dimensional works are encouraged with varied media. The Sage Gallery at Lakeside is located within the 1922 annex (once the original country club) now the arts park main gallery. Accepted work will be part of the December 4th First Friday Opening from 5pm-8pm. The exhibit will be publicly displayed from November 30th through December 7th. This juried exhibit joins a time honored Christmas at the Dole holiday experience on December 4th that boasts attendance between 300-500 people. The gallery opening includes complimentary appetizers provided by Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and a cash bar. Lakeside jointly markets with all accepted artists to promote this event through press releases, fliers, social media, postcards, and more. Each individual artist is expected to co-promote the event.

Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Submit 1-3 professional/high resolution JPG images titled with actual dimensions and accurate orientation. Original work only, no prints. Accepted work must be hand delivered. Installation date is Monday, November 30th from 9am-5pm. Take down is Monday, December 7th from 9am-5pm. Work must be framed and wired, professionally presented with a label on the back including artist's name, work title, and sale price. A title card on card stock no larger than 4in. x 4in. and a printed artist statement (no larger than 8.5in. x 11in.) are required. Art sales are subject to a 30% commission to Lakeside Legacy Arts Park. Artists must complete a gallery agreement/contract and hold harmless form. Artists who sell work must submit a W9 form before payment checks will be issued. If artwork is not picked up by December 7th, a $75 storage fee per day will be assessed.
