(Self) LOVE

Gallery 1202 is soliciting submissions for its group show (Self) LOVE, running August 7 - September 17, 2021. The opening reception will be held August 7th from 5-8 PM. One artist from the show will be awarded a solo show at the gallery in 2022. Each participant will receive a batch of postcards, and the entire exhibition will be recorded in 3D by Artland.

The theme centers around the importance of self-care, self-awareness, and mental health during the pandemic and political upheaval. This call seeks submissions that represent, embody, or otherwise realize self-care lessons learned during the last 18 months, and the importance of self-preservation in times of unrest. All mediums are welcome. All artists are welcome—regional, national, and international.

Submission fee is $25 for 3 images, $5 per additional image (3-12 images required). Artists are responsible for shipping to the gallery. Work must be received by July 28th at 7363 Monterey Street, Gilroy, CA 95020. All works must be wired to hang with wire and D-rings; sawtooth hangers or D-rings alone will not be permitted. Gallery 1202 will put all works up for sale at artist-dictated prices unless marked NFS. The commission is 50/50 on sales. Works will be listed on Artsy and 1stDibs, with artists and the gallery splitting the 15% Artsy commission. Acceptance notification: July 10th. Work pick-up/return shipping: September 21-24th.
