Self-Expression (Open Theme) at MVA Gallery

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists and photographers of all levels to submit original 2D artwork to the "Self-Expression" exhibition. This is an open theme call; all subject matter and styles will be considered. Accepted mediums include paintings, watercolors, prints, drawings, and photographs.

Entry fee is $30.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions should include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. Only 2D original artwork will be accepted; no reproductions or previously exhibited work at MVA Gallery. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation. Framed pieces must have stretched wire; sawtooth hangers and unframed work are not accepted. Gallery-wrapped paintings are acceptable. Plexiglass is preferred over glass. Pieces should not exceed 44 inches on the longest side or weigh more than 50 lbs. Photographs must be framed and matted in white or off-white only, with black or white frames preferred.

The exhibition runs June 3-27, 2021. Notification of acceptance will be provided by May 23, 2021. All accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery by May 31, 2021 via UPS or FedEx only; hand-delivered work will not be accepted. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed with artwork. Unsold artwork will be returned June 29-July 3, 2021. For sales, artists receive 70% of the final sales price; the gallery retains 30%. "Art of Distinction" awards ranging from $250 to $800 will be granted. The gallery is located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, approximately one hour from New York City.
