Seeing RED

Art Fluent invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to the online exhibition Seeing RED. The theme explores the power and significance of red—the first color humans perceive after black and white, and the color babies see before any other. Red communicates love, passion, power, vitality, and life force, while also warning of danger, fear, and aggression. Artists are invited to show Seeing RED from their perspective.

Submissions must be in JPEG format following CaFÉ guidelines, with images at least 1,200 pixels on the longest side and maximum file size of 5 MB. Artists may submit up to 20 images total. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. For 3D work, detail shots do not require additional fees. Work that has been previously selected for Art Fluent exhibits or work copied or done under instructor guidance is not eligible. The call is open to all fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except film/video.

All accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at www.art-fluent.com. Awards include Best of Show ($750) and two Director's Choice awards ($250 each). The exhibition will be curated and juried by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by December 16, 2022. Artists receive 100% of sales. A portion of entry fee proceeds is donated to organizations supporting the arts and artists.
