About This Call

The Art Students League of Denver announces its second annual juried exhibition Pressing Matters: in Celebration of Mo'Print, a regional juried exhibition of original artist prints celebrating Denver's Mo'Print. The exhibition is open to Colorado artists at least 18 years of age. All forms of printmaking are eligible, including relief, lithography, silkscreen, intaglio, monotypes, monoprints, and hybrid prints combining multiple mediums including digital and photo-mechanical. Submitted prints can be partially, but not solely, digital or photo-mechanical. Work must have been completed in the last two years (2014-present). 2-D prints must be framed and ready to hang; any 3-D work must include instructions for display.

Submissions are made online via CAFÉ. Each piece submitted requires a $10 entry fee, with an additional $10 media fee. Submissions may include a maximum of two images per piece, with 1-10 total samples accepted. The entry deadline is January 18, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified of selection via email no later than January 25, 2016. The exhibition runs February 26 - March 25, 2016, with an opening reception on March 12, 2016 at 5:30-8pm where awards will be announced. Juror is Bud Shark of Shark's Ink.

Designated awards for select artworks up to $250 will be announced at the artist reception and paid within 30 days of the exhibition's end. All artwork entered must be for sale, with the artist receiving 60% of the sale price. Sale proceeds will be paid within 30 days of the exhibition's end. Artwork is insured for 60% of its retail value against theft or total loss while on premises. The artist is responsible for all shipping and shipping insurance costs to and from the gallery. Framing specifications: wired pieces only, no sawtooth hangers, no plastic frames, black or neutral toned only. By submitting artwork, the artist agrees that images of selected artwork and submitted text can be used by ASLD for promotions and publications. For questions, contact Robin Whatley, exhibits curator, at [email protected] or 720-638-7236.
