About This Call

The South Carolina Watermedia Society is accepting entries for the 2024 Spring Digital Show. The competition is open to any member whose dues are current (dues run from January 1 through December 31). Membership is open to adults 18 or older.

All work submitted must be the sole work of the entering artist. All water-soluble media are acceptable, except water-soluble oils. Where collage is used, watermedia should be more than 50 percent of the image. Images painted from published sources, completed under instruction in a class or workshop, or created using artificial intelligence are not acceptable and will result in disqualification with a one year penalty. Work must have been begun and completed after January 1, 2020. Submissions should include 1-2 images.

The 2024 Spring Digital Show juror is Alexis Lavine, a signature member of nine watercolor societies including The National Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA Honor Society, and Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Award winners will be notified via email. The top four paintings in the show will receive monetary awards: First - $300, Second - $200, Third - $100, Honorable Mention - $50. Entry fee is $25.00 plus a $10.00 media fee.
