SCVWS Water Media Exhibition

This exhibition is open to all water media on paper, canvas, or cradle board, and may include some use of collage. Artists must be current SCVWS members with dues paid by the deadline. Artwork must have been completed in the last 3 years and not previously exhibited in a SCVWS show. Up to 2 paintings per artist may be submitted. The venue can accommodate 25-30 paintings; the organization reserves the right to accept one or two paintings depending on the total number of entries received.

Frame size minimum is 11x14 and maximum is 24x28. Paintings mounted on a cradle board are acceptable with or without a frame. No glass is allowed (plexi only); canvas or board is acceptable. Only D-rings are permitted for wires on the back of frames, and wires must be taped. Artwork may be rejected if not framed and matted per exhibit rule guidelines. All artwork on paper should be properly matted, framed, and ready to hang with plain metal or wood frames less than 2" wide recommended. Artwork on canvas must be properly finished and ready to hang with either a proper frame or professionally wrapped edges completely painted in a manner in keeping with the artwork, with no visible staples.

Submissions must be made through ShowSubmit by Thursday, August 21, 2025 until midnight. A maximum of two digital images from each artist may be submitted. Images should be in JPG format, under 30MB, and at least 1,500 pixels on the longest side. Images must depict the complete work, be clearly focused, and be cropped to show only the work without mat or frame. Each artist must sign up for a volunteer job and help publicize the event. All insurance is the artist's responsibility. Sales transactions are between the artist and buyer; SCVWS does not take a commission.
