About This Call
Sculpture Tucson annually hosts Arizona's largest juried sculpture show and sale the first weekend in April. Proceeds from the show and sale support the purchase of sculpture for public art in and around Tucson as well as funding public art and education programs.
Applications are juried by an internationally recognized panel of artists. Though hundreds of artists apply, only 60 will be accepted. Accepted artists receive a 10 ft. x 15 ft. space to exhibit work under a communal tent, up to 3 pedestals, and the ability to exhibit up to 15 pieces of sculpture. All accepted artists are included in a catalog featuring participating artists' work. Selected artists may be invited to participate in the "Artist Talk" series of lectures. Sales are processed by SculptureTucson.org, which retains a 30% commission.
The application deadline is November 15th, 2019 at 11:59 PM PST. The entry fee is $15. Applicants must submit an application form, artist statement (up to 1/2 page), 5-15 images of 3-dimensional work currently available for sale, and an image list with title, year, dimensions, materials, price, and brief description. Accepted artists will be notified by November 30th, 2019. Individual sculptors attending the full show are charged a $100 booth fee; those unable to attend the full duration are charged $150. Gallery spaces are available at $250 per booth. The festival runs April 3-5, 2020: Friday April 3 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Patron's Event), Saturday April 4 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm, and Sunday April 5 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. Applicants are responsible for transporting sculpture to and from the show site. Large sculpture exhibitors requiring special assistance should indicate this on the application form.
