About This Call
The Sculpture Showcase is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display in Evergreen, Colorado, in the foothills west of Denver. Initiated in 1999, this annual program continues the legacy of Sculpture Evergreen, which became part of Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) on January 1, 2023. All works must be original and will be on display for one year until June 4, 2027. A stipend of $1,200 will be awarded for each accepted sculpture, plus a Juried Award of $1,000 for artistic excellence.
Sculptures must be soundly and professionally constructed to withstand wind gusts up to 75 mph and must be at least 4 feet tall to be eligible. Pieces standing between 4 to 12 feet in height have the best chance of being chosen. Sculptures must have a steel mounting plate for welding to a pedestal, have another suitable attachment method, or be of sufficient weight and durability to be safely placed on the ground. Works cannot have been shown in Evergreen before, and duplicates cannot be on display within a 50-mile radius of Evergreen during the exhibition.
The $35 entry fee includes entry for two pieces, with a third piece available for an additional $10. Artists must be present for installation on June 6, 2026, and deinstallation during the first week of June 2027. CAE will provide one night of overnight accommodations for artists traveling more than 50 miles from Evergreen. All sculptures will be listed for sale, with CAE acting as agent and receiving a 30% commission on sales. Since the competition's inception, more than 36 pieces have been purchased for Evergreen's permanent collection.
