About This Call
Tallahassee is seeking artists from across the United States to submit original, prefabricated outdoor sculptures for a two-year exhibition opening in Summer 2025. Funded by a grant from the Knight Foundation, this exhibition will showcase sculptures at three locations within Downtown Tallahassee, complementing the area's natural landscape and history.
Artists must have documented experience with the design and construction of outdoor sculpture and must reside within the United States. Sculptures must be safe, stable, and durable for public spaces, able to withstand Florida's environmental conditions, and securable to 4.5-foot diameter concrete pads. Artists may submit up to three sculptures in one application, with 3-10 images required. Submissions must include an artist's statement, resume, sculpture specifications with a 2-year maintenance plan, installation plan, and documentation of previous relevant projects.
Each selected artist will receive a $5,000 honorarium ($2,500 upon delivery and installation, $2,500 upon pick-up after the exhibition). Artists are responsible for transportation, installation, and removal of their work. The exhibition runs from July 2025 through July 2027, with sculptures to be removed by July 31st, 2027. Application deadline is February 16th, 2025. Submit materials via CaFE.org.
