About This Call
The Town of Fraser annually commissions and purchases a single sculpture between $7,000-$10,000, and leases 2-3 additional works at $1,000 per work. All sculptures are displayed outdoors as part of an ongoing effort to build a sculpture gallery in the center of town. Leased works are available for purchase at the end of the lease period. This call is for separate opportunities in 2022 and 2023.
The Public Art Committee will serve as the jury. While the committee does not require artists to follow a specific theme, Fraser's character as a mountain community with traditions in outdoor recreation, wildlife, ranching, and rich history may inspire submissions. The committee welcomes diverse artistic perspectives and is open to various media including cast sculptures, ceramics, and metals.
Applicants must submit at least three digital examples of their work, a sketch or representation of their concept, and a narrative indicating timing and interest in either the lease or purchase program. A resume or relevant link to your history is required. If applicable, please identify other outdoor public art installations you have completed. All artists are eligible. Entry fee is $20.00. Submit 3-7 images total.
