Sculpture on the Prairie

Sculpture on the Prairie is an outdoor exhibition held May 17 - October 26, 2019 on the grounds of Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois. The 12-acre campus, located in the Fox River Valley approximately one hour west of Chicago, provides an ideal setting for sculptural works of art.

Artists are invited to submit original 3-D work in any sculpture or craft medium that is durable and can withstand outdoor prairie elements. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 and older who reside and work in the United States. Up to three pieces may be submitted per entry, with one entry per artist allowed. Work must not have been previously shown at Fine Line or within 30 miles of the campus. All work must be for sale. For each piece entered, three images are required: front, back, and side view.

Works must be structurally secured to a 3' x 3' or 3' x 4' concrete pad with anchor bolts or similar devices and capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. Weight limit is 300 pounds per piece; height limit is 10 feet. Pieces must not have sharp edges or pose any danger to the public. Fine Line will charge a 30% sales commission on any artwork sold and will handle all sales and sales tax. Each accepted artist receives a $500 honorarium to cover transportation, installation, and deinstallation. Entry fee is $35.00 (non-refundable), due by February 24, 2019. Awards include a $500 Best of Show award, a $100 People's Choice Award, and 3 non-monetary Awards of Merit. Jury notification will be sent on or before March 15, 2019. Insurance is provided from receipt of work through the end of the show; artists are responsible for transit insurance.
