About This Call
The Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA) is seeking high quality contemporary sculpture for Sculpture on the Green, a rotating exhibition that occurs every one to three years. This is the third iteration of the exhibition, highlighting contemporary sculpture by Colorado artists. Sculptures will be placed around Fiddler's Green Circle within the Greenwood Plaza business district near MOA's Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO. The district receives foot traffic from area office tenants, residents, light rail users, and patrons attending concerts at the amphitheatre. Sculptures will be on display for approximately one year, with installation occurring in June 2022. The exhibition will be curated by MOA President & Executive Director, Cynthia Madden Leitner.
Artists may enter up to two existing sculptures for consideration. Sculptures must not exceed 4,000 pounds or 25 feet in height and must fit onto one of five existing concrete pads: Site 1 (33" x 28"), Site 2 (72" x 84"), Site 3 (53" x 57"), Site 4 (70" x 126"), or Site 5 (51" x 52", with 9-foot height restriction). Artworks must be able to be safely attached to existing concrete pads, not pose any safety risk to the public, and be able to withstand exposure to the elements and remain maintenance-free for the duration of the exhibition. Only one sculpture per artist will be displayed. Sculptures may be sold during the exhibition but must remain on display for the full duration.
Eligibility is open to Colorado-based professional sculptors of all backgrounds over the age of 18 residing or working in Colorado. Artists may submit up to two applications. The entry fee is $10 per sculpture. Work sample requirements: 3-5 images and up to 1 video (3-6 total samples minimum).
