About This Call
Sculpture Missoula is seeking five new sculptures for installation in Silver Park, a 15-acre riverside park in Missoula. This multi-year program is building a dynamic collection with five works installed in 2025, five more debuting in 2026, and another five in 2027 and beyond. Selected artists will exhibit their work for a two-year period in a rotating showcase. All works will be for sale during the two-year period and may be donated back to the park for permanent exhibition.
Silver Park is located on the banks of the Clark Fork River adjacent to downtown Missoula on a historic site previously used as a sawmill. Sculptures will be placed along meandering paths linked to the city's trail system. The park offers hiking and biking trails, picnic shelters, boat launch, parking, accessible public restrooms, and scenic views.
Selected artists will receive a $2,000 stipend ($1,000 on delivery; $1,000 upon retrieval), up to $250 for shipping and travel expenses, and accommodation for up to four nights during the September 2026 installation. Installation is scheduled for the week of September 14, with a private artist reception on September 16 and public reception on September 17. The winner of the People's Choice Award will receive an additional $1,000. Jury selection and artist notification will occur by June 12, 2026. Applicants may submit up to 3 applications and must provide 3 to 5 images of the work, with a maximum of 1 video.
