Sculpture for Pompano Beach

The City of Pompano Beach is seeking to purchase an already fabricated, pre-existing sculpture for their permanent collection. The artwork will be located in the Innovation District on the corner of Dixie Highway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

There is no theme; however, the City is seeking symbolic connectivity for the community within the Art and Historical District. The artwork should be significant in size and reflect the Innovation District's vision of creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly, urban, mixed-use Downtown. Artists must submit a pre-existing artwork for purchase. The City of Pompano Beach will only purchase unique works of art. The artwork should be durable and require minimal ongoing maintenance, with resistance to South Florida's sub-tropical climate, intense sun, seasonal heavy rain, and high-speed winds. The artwork must be self-supporting on an open landscape or hardscape.

The purchase budget is $25,000.00, which includes all insurance, taxes, fees, permits, delivery, and installation. The City will be responsible for fees relating to the slab the artwork will be placed on. The artist is required to transport and install the artwork at the location and supply all materials needed for installation including power. The artist is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits prior to installation and ensuring the design is code compliant and can withstand South Florida weather conditions and wind load requirements.
