Sculpture Evergreen Sculpture Walk 2023

Sculpture Evergreen, now part of Center for the Arts Evergreen (merged January 1, 2023), has established a program of public art acquisition to beautify open spaces and public buildings in Evergreen, CO. The annual Sculpture Walk, initiated in 1999, is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display. All works must be original.

Accepted sculptures will be on display for one year until June 1, 2024. A stipend of $1,000 will be awarded for each accepted sculpture, plus a Juried Award of $1,000 for artistic excellence. Sculptures must be at least 4 feet tall and soundly constructed to withstand wind gusts up to 75 mph. Sculptures must have a steel mounting plate for welding to a pedestal, another suitable attachment method, or be of sufficient weight and durability to be safely placed on the ground. Pieces between 4-12 feet in height have the best chance of selection.

The $35 entry fee includes entry for two pieces; a third piece may be added for $10. Up to three photos per sculpture must be provided (front, rear, and detail). Each artist may submit up to three pieces. Accepted works must be identical to submitted images. Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone in mid-February 2023. Sculptures must arrive June 2, 2023 and will be installed June 3, 2023; artists must be present for installation. Overnight accommodations will be provided for artists traveling more than 50 miles from Evergreen. Artists must also be present for deinstallation in June 2024. An Artist Reception will be held Friday evening before installation. Sculpture Evergreen will provide full insurance for all installed artwork and will make reasonable efforts to sell sculptures during the walk. Sculpture Evergreen receives a 25% commission on any sales occurring during the exhibition period.
