Sculpture Evergreen Sculpture Walk 2019-2020

Sculpture Evergreen has established a program of public art acquisition to beautify public buildings and open spaces in Evergreen, CO, located in the foothills west of Denver. The annual Sculpture Walk is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display. All works must be original. A stipend of $700 will be awarded for each accepted sculpture. Additionally, there is a Juried Award of $1,000 for artistic excellence and a People's Choice Award voted upon by the public.

Sculptures must be at least 42" tall, with pieces between 4-12 feet in height having the best chance of selection. All sculptures must be soundly and professionally constructed of durable materials suitable for outdoor exhibit and designed to withstand wind gusts up to 100 mph without damage. Sculptures must have a steel mounting plate for welding to a pedestal, another suitable attachment method, or be of sufficient weight and durability to be safely placed on the ground. For each submitted sculpture, 3 photos must be provided: frontal, rear, and one detailed image. The $30 entry fee includes entry of up to 3 pieces (nine photos in all). Sculptures must arrive in Evergreen on Friday, June 5, 2020, and will be installed Saturday, June 6, 2020. Artists must be present for installation and de-installation in June 2021. Sculptures will be on display for one year, with the possibility of a few being held over for an additional year with the artist's permission. Overnight accommodations will be provided for artists traveling more than 50 miles from Evergreen. Artists are invited to a reception on Friday evening before installation and a celebratory brunch on Saturday following installation.

Sculpture Evergreen has the right to use photos of work for promotional purposes and will provide full insurance for all installed artwork. Sculpture Evergreen will receive a 25% commission on any sales occurring during the time the sculpture is included in the Walk. If Sculpture Evergreen elects to purchase art for itself or in partnership with other entities, the artist will grant a 25% discount off the purchase price. Replicas sold as a result of the exhibition are subject to the same commission/discount terms. Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone in February 2020.
