Sculpture Evergreen Sculpture Walk 2018-2019

Sculpture Evergreen has established a program of art acquisition to beautify public buildings and open spaces in Evergreen, CO, located in the foothills west of Denver. The annual Sculpture Walk is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display. Accepted works will be on display for one year, until May 31, 2020, with the possibility of a few being held over for an additional year with the artist's permission and an additional stipend.

Sculptures must be soundly and professionally constructed of durable materials suitable for outdoor exhibit and must withstand wind gusts up to 100 mph without damage. Free-standing sculptures must be at least 42" tall; pieces between 4-12 feet in height have the best chance of selection. Sculptures must have a steel mounting plate for welding to a pedestal, another suitable attachment method, or be of sufficient weight and durability to be safely placed on the ground. All works must be original and identical to submitted images. For each sculpture, provide 3 photos: frontal, rear, and one detailed image. The $30 entry fee includes entry of up to 3 pieces (nine photos total).

Sculptures must arrive in Evergreen on Friday, June 1, 2019, and will be installed Saturday, June 2, 2019. Artists must be present for installation and de-installation on May 31, 2020. Overnight accommodations will be provided for artists traveling more than 50 miles from Evergreen. A stipend of $700 will be awarded for each accepted sculpture, with a Juried Award of $1,000 and a People's Choice award voted upon by the public. Sculpture Evergreen receives a 25% commission on any sales during the Walk. Since inception, 35 pieces have been purchased for the permanent collection. Artists are invited to a reception on Friday evening and a celebratory lunch on Saturday following installation. Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone by January 31, 2019.
