Sculpture Evergreen

Sculpture Evergreen (formerly Art for the Mountain Community) has established a program of art acquisition to beautify public buildings and open spaces in the mountain area of Jefferson County, Colorado and encourage the expression and appreciation of art through education and public activities. The annual Sculpture Walk is a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures suitable for outdoor display, exhibited in the foothills area west of Denver for one year. A stipend of $600 will be awarded for each accepted sculpture. Additional awards include a $1,000 Juried Award and a $700 People's Choice Award. Since the competition's inception, 31 pieces have been purchased by area art patrons.

Sculptures must be suitable for outdoor display. Free-standing sculptures must be at least 48" tall; outdoor wall sculptures will also be considered. Artists can submit up to 3 pieces for a $30 entry fee. For each submitted sculpture, 3 photos must be provided: frontal, rear, and one detailed image. All works must be original, and accepted works must be identical to the images submitted.

Accepted sculptures must arrive in Evergreen on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 (the date of the Sculpture Walk Artist's Reception). Installation occurs June 4th, 2016, and artists must be present. Sculptures will remain on display for one year (until June 2nd, 2017). Artists will be notified of acceptance by phone by February 20, 2016.
