About This Call
Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the Sculpture at the Kavanagh exhibit to be held at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois, from July 17 - August 13, 2025. The show is open to any 3-D work in any sculpture or craft medium. No paintings, photographs, or other 2-D work will be accepted. The Fine Line Creative Arts Center is located in the Fox River Valley, approximately one hour west of Chicago, Illinois.
Eligibility is open to artists 18 years or older who reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Work must not have been previously shown at Fine Line. Each applicant may submit up to 3 pieces per entry. Artists may submit one entry. A non-refundable entry fee of $35.00 is required at the time of application. All pieces must be for sale. Each artist must supply an artist statement of no more than 1000 characters (without the artist's name). Images submitted must be of the actual work to be exhibited, and artwork must be original and not copied from other art or made from a kit.
Accepted artists are responsible for shipping artwork to and from Fine Line Creative Arts Center and must include a return shipping label. Work must be insured during shipping. Packed artwork must not exceed 48 inches x 32 inches x 72 inches and must weigh no more than 50 pounds. The Kavanagh Gallery has grey pedestals available for display. Smaller items will be displayed in locked cabinets. If artwork requires unusual display protocol, the artist must provide these items. The gallery cannot hang artwork from the ceiling. Hanging work should have wire and screw eyes; no saw-tooth hangers or clip frames are permitted. Fine Line will handle all sales, sales tax, and provide artists with a check for sales after the show ends, charging a 30% sales commission. Fine Line provides 24/7 video monitoring and insurance coverage from receipt of work until the end of the show (valued at 70% of sale price). Awards totaling $800.00 will be given. Jury decisions are based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality. Notification of jury decisions will be sent by June 14, 2025. Delivery and check-in is July 12, 2025 (10 am - 5 pm). The opening reception is July 17, 2025 (6-8 pm). The show is open to the public Monday-Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm. Pick-up is August 16, 2025 (10 am - 5 pm). Unsold work shipped to Fine Line will be returned between August 14-18, 2025. Exhibited work cannot be removed until August 15, 2025.
