Sculpture at the Kavanagh

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the Sculpture at the Kavanagh exhibit to be held at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois, from June 27 - August 7, 2024. The show is open to any 3-D work in any sculpture or craft medium. No paintings, photographs, or other 2-D work will be accepted. The Fine Line Creative Arts Center is located in the Fox River Valley, approximately one hour west of Chicago, Illinois.

Eligibility is regional, open to artists 18 years or older who reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Work must have been completed in the last three years and not previously shown at Fine Line. Each applicant may submit up to 3 pieces per entry. Artists may submit one entry with a non-refundable entry fee of $35.00. All pieces must be for sale. Each artist must supply an artist statement of no more than 1000 characters (artist name should not be included). Images submitted must be of the actual work to be exhibited.

Jurors' selections are based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality as represented in the images submitted. Notification of jury decisions will be sent on or before May 25, 2024. Awards totaling $800.00 will be given. The artist is responsible for shipping artwork to and from Fine Line Creative Arts Center and must include a return shipping label. Insurance during shipping is the artist's responsibility. Packed artwork cannot exceed 48 inches x 32 inches x 72 inches and cannot exceed 50 pounds. The gallery will charge a 30% sales commission for any artwork sold during the show. Artists have the option to put their work for sale on the Fine Line website for the show's duration, with Fine Line handling all taxes and shipping costs for online sales. Fine Line provides 24/7 security and insurance coverage from receipt of work until the end of the show (valued at 70% of sale price). Delivery and check-in is June 22, 2024 (10 am - 5 pm by hand). The opening reception is June 27, 2024 (6-8 pm). The show is open to the public Monday-Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm. Pick-up is August 10, 2024 (10 am - 5 pm). Unsold work shipped to Fine Line will be returned to the artist between August 8 and August 14, 2024.
