Sculptural and Functional

This exhibition is for both functional and sculptural 3D art made from fiber, glass, wood, clay, metal, or any medium that creates 3D work, including furniture if artfully made. The gallery seeks unique and original takes on sculptural and functional works with professional quality standards.

Eligibility is limited to North Carolina and South Carolina artists. Works must be completed in the last three years and never previously shown at Sunset River Gallery. All works must be for sale. Free-standing work must be stable. Wall-mounted work must be no more than 30 pounds with hardware for hanging attached (no sawtooth hangers). Work must fit through the gallery's front doors (80" high x 68" wide). Each piece is entered individually; artists may submit up to 5 entries with a $30 entry fee per piece. Submissions should include 3 images per entry, with video also accepted. All jurying is done anonymously. Jury dates are March 31 - April 4, with acceptance notifications on or about April 6.

Accepted artists and the gallery sign a contract for a 50/50 split of all sold pieces. Hand-delivered work must be brought in on May 1st or 2nd during business hours (11am - 5pm); shipping is acceptable with return shipping required. The show runs May 3 - June 8, with a reception on May 3 from 5pm - 7pm. Pick-up dates are June 10-11 during business hours. Awards include a $100 Best of Show award at the reception and a $50 gift certificate People's Choice award. The gallery retains rights to use photographs of the art and event for marketing purposes.
