Schwa Show: A National Juried Art Exhibition

This national juried exhibition is open to artists age 18 and up working in any media and subject matter. All work must have been completed in the past 3 years and never previously exhibited at Emerge Gallery and Art Center. Pieces must fit through a standard-sized door and be available for the entire exhibition. Video entries are accepted but require special equipment to be provided by the artist. All work must be "ready to hang" or will not be eligible.

Artists may submit up to 5 entries. The entry fee is $20 for three entries and $5 for each additional entry. Work must be labeled with title and artist at time of delivery if accepted. The exhibition runs October 2-29, 2020, with an opening reception on Friday, October 2 from 5-8pm. Accepted work must be received by September 23, 2020 if shipped, or hand-delivered Thursday, September 24 between 1-8pm or Saturday, September 26 between 1-4pm. Accepted work must be picked up by Thursday, October 29 between 1-8pm or Saturday, October 31 between 1-3pm, or must have a prepaid mailing label for return shipping.

Three cash awards will be given: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, and 3rd Place $100. Emerge Gallery retains a 40% commission on sales (30% for East Carolina University students). Work assumed for sale unless noted with an insurance value and marked NFS. Payment will be mailed within 45 days of exhibition end.
