Schwa Show 2022

The Schwa Show is a national juried competition recognizing excellence in fine arts and crafts. The exhibition is open to artists in any media and subject matter. Artists must be age 18 and up. All work must have been completed in the past 3 years and never previously exhibited at Emerge. All pieces must fit through a standard sized door, and work must be available for the entire exhibition. Video entries are accepted, but special equipment must be provided. Work must be ready to hang or will not be eligible.

Each artist may submit up to 5 entries. The entry fee is $20 for three entries and $5 for each additional entry. Work samples should include 3-5 images, and up to 2 audio or video files. Submissions are due by 11:59pm MST on August 20, 2022. Notifications will be emailed on August 31, 2022. Accepted work must be received by September 28 between 10:00am-8:00pm. The exhibition runs October 7-27, 2022, with an opening reception on Friday, October 7, from 5:00pm-8:00pm.

Three cash awards will be given: 1st Place - $500, 2nd Place - $250, 3rd Place - $100. Accepted work must be picked up on Friday, October 28 (10:00am-8:00pm) or Saturday, October 29 (10:00am-4:00pm), or must have a prepaid mailing label for return shipping. Emerge Gallery will retain a 30% commission on sales. Insurance coverage is provided during exhibition dates only, with a maximum of $5,000.
