About This Call

East Carolina University School of Art and Design invites currently enrolled undergraduate students to submit work to the Fall 2021 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition. Students may submit up to four solo pieces, five collaborative pieces, or a total mix of five collaborative and solo pieces. All media are eligible. Works must be completed between November 2020 and September 2021 as part of Art and Design coursework and cannot have been previously submitted to the Spring 2020/2021 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition.

The exhibition will be on view October 11 – November 12, 2021, with a virtual juror's talk and awards announcement on Wednesday, October 13 at 4 pm, and a reception on November 5th from 8-5pm. Steve Prince, Director of Engagement and Distinguished Artist in Residence at the Muscarelle Museum of Art at William and Mary University, will serve as juror. Entry and jurying will happen online. Artwork drop-off is October 4-5, and pickup is November 9-11. All artwork must be prepared for display with any required specialty hardware included at drop-off. Ready-to-hang/install pieces should not use sawtooth hangers or magnets.

Awards include Best in Show ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), ten Merit Awards ($100 each), two Friends of the School of Art and Design Awards ($150 each), and the Nell Cole Graves Award for Ceramics ($100). For group awards, prize money will be distributed evenly and distributed through student financial accounts. There is no entry fee. Submissions must include one image with description and up to three detail images per piece, along with title, medium, dimensions, course information, course instructor, semester completed, installation requirements, and insurance/sales information for each work.
