About This Call
The Scholastic 144 is a juried high school exhibition for juniors and seniors residing in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, and West Virginia. The exhibition showcases regional high school artwork and is open to all eligible students during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Eligible work includes two and three-dimensional pieces. Two-dimensional entries are limited to 144 square inches, and three-dimensional entries are limited to 12" x 12" x 12". Work requiring assembly, electronic equipment, or electricity is not eligible. The entry fee is $10 per entry, with one entry per student.
Submissions are accepted from November 1, 2025 through January 7, 2026. Jurying takes place January 8-11, with accepted students announced on January 12, 2026. Shipped entries must arrive by January 18, 2026. Hand-delivered artwork must arrive by Saturday, January 16 (9am-4pm) or Sunday, January 17 (1-5pm). The opening reception is January 24, 2026 from 1-3pm, and the exhibition runs through February 27. Artwork pickup is February 28 from 10am-4pm.
Awards totaling $500 are given: Best of Exhibit ($300), Second Place ($150), and Third Place ($50). Honorable Mention and participation certificates are also awarded. Awards are juried by Shippensburg University Art and Design Faculty.
