About This Call

Placer Community Foundation (PCF) manages the Susan Cooley Gilliom Artist in Residence & Teaching Program (SCG ART Program) in partnership with Blue Line Arts in Roseville, CA. The program brings established artists to Placer County to teach and share their artistic talents and experience with the greater community. The program was established in memory of local artist Susan Cooley Gilliom by her family.

The selected artist will lead activities during the residency from August 3-24, 2024, including: a one-hour artist lecture presentation on Saturday, August 17th from 4:00-5:00pm; open studio hours for up to two hours per day during gallery hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm); 1-2 school tours with local students at Blue Line Arts; and 2 workshops for adults (18+ years old). Dates and times for open studio hours, school tours, and workshops will be confirmed with the selected artist.

Applications must be submitted online by 5:00pm PST on March 1st, 2024. Applicants must submit: a cover letter (1-2 pages) addressing the selection committee; workshop proposals (2 pages maximum) describing two proposed workshops for adults; curriculum vitae (2 pages maximum); artist statement (1 page maximum); 5-10 high quality images of completed works; 1-2 artist headshots; and 1-2 images of the artist at work. Results will be sent by 5pm PST on March 20th, 2024. Open to all artists in the United States 18 years or older who have not previously been selected for an SCG Residency at Blue Line Arts.
