About This Call
Scapes is a national juried exhibition of scenery artworks open to all functional and non-functional work in 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums and styles. Work must depict some sort of "scape," including landscapes, cityscapes, waterscapes, oceanscapes, mountainscapes, urbanscapes, spacescapes, desertscapes, gardenscapes, or any kind of "scape." Work must be hang or pedestal ready, no longer than 60" in its longest dimension, and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
This is a juried exhibition co-curated by Doug Clarke, an award-winning plein air and studio painter based in Virginia Beach, and d'Art gallery manager Amanda Bradley. The exhibition will be displayed in person at d'Art Center's Main Gallery (740 Boush St., Norfolk, Virginia) from August 5 - September 2, 2023, with a reception on Thursday, August 10, 2023, 5:30 - 7:30pm. The exhibition will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). d'Art Center takes a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center).
Eligibility: Open to artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. Entry fee is $35 for 3 works (one image per submission), with $5 for each additional submission up to 10 total works. A $5 media fee applies. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, July 29, 2023. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, July 3, 2023. For questions, contact [email protected].
