Scanography / The Art of Scanning

Scanography / The Art of Scanning is a photography exhibition featuring digital images created using a flatbed scanner instead of a camera. Artists are invited to develop their own style by arranging compositions of objects directly on the flatbed scanner or painting on the scanner surface. Photo editing may be applied after the image is completed.

The exhibition runs March 17 - April 15, 2017, with an opening reception and artists reception on March 17 from 5-8 pm. The application deadline is March 1, 2017. Entry fee is $40.00 for up to three entries. Submissions must include 1-3 images and be made through CaFÉ (callforentry.org). Accepted artists will be notified via email on March 3, 2017.

Local artwork must be dropped off to the gallery (915 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204) on Tuesday, March 14 between 11-2 pm. Artwork must be no larger than 48 inches wide by 60 inches high. Shipped artwork must arrive by March 14 and should be packaged in boxes no larger than 36 x 36 inches. All work must be original, ready to hang with secure wire on the back, and displayed in simple frames (no plastic, white, or elaborate frames recommended). Work must be clearly marked on the back with artist name, title, medium, size, and price. Artists receive 60% of sales. Awards of recognition will be given. Unsold shipped artwork will be returned 1-3 weeks after the exhibit ends. Pickup of unsold local artwork is April 15 from 4-6 pm. Juror: Niza Knoll.
