SCA 2026 Open International Online Juried Exhibition

The Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) presents its 2026 Open International Online Juried Exhibition, welcoming art submissions from emerging and established artists residing in Canada and internationally. This online exhibition showcases outstanding contemporary and representational artworks to a national and international audience.

The exhibition features two independently juried categories: Representational, which welcomes works exploring the world around us through detailed portrayals or personal interpretations, and Contemporary, which invites fresh perspectives, new ideas, and diverse approaches including abstract and conceptual works. Each category is evaluated by a panel of five professional jurors according to three criteria: Technical Excellence, Artistic Expression, and Creative Innovation. Artists may submit up to 3 artworks and can select which category each piece enters. Entry fees are $50 CAD for SCA Elected Members, $65 CAD for Associate Members, and $80 CAD for Non-Members.

The exhibition runs April 15–30, 2026, with a virtual opening and awards ceremony on April 15. Notification of results will be sent April 12. Total prizes of $20,000 CAD include: 1st Award of Distinction ($5,000 each category), 2nd Award of Distinction ($1,500 each category), and awards for Creative Innovation, Artistic Expression, and Technical Excellence ($750 each category), plus 10 Honourable Mentions valued at $250 each. All submitted work must be original, created by the applicant without instructor guidance, completed on or after January 1, 2023, and not previously exhibited in an SCA exhibition. Artwork generated using artificial intelligence is not permitted. Reference photos must be taken by the artist. The submission deadline is February 28, 2026 at 11:59 pm ET.
