About This Call
Barrett Art Center seeks artworks in which color is the primary instrument of expression for this national juried exhibition. Drawing, painting (all mediums), pastel, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fiber, mixed-media, new media, and installation works are eligible. The exhibition will be held April 6 through May 18, 2019.
Size guidelines: Maximum dimensions for 2D work are 72" in each dimension; 3D work, 36"x72"x72". Submissions should create a visually-compelling complement or counterpoint to Barrett Art Center's 1840s Greek Revival townhouse interior. The juror is Michael Rooks, Weiland Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum of Art.
Entry fees: BAC Members pay $35 for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image; Non-members pay $45 for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image. Work samples must include a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 images, with up to 6 videos permitted. Deadline: January 19, 2019. Notification will be provided 10-14 days from the deadline. Delivery dates are March 23, 25, 26, and 27, 2019. Awards include $500 Juror's Prize, $200 Second Prize, and $125 Honorable Mention. BAC collects 20% commission on artwork by Members and 30% on non-Member artwork.
