About This Call
The Sarah J. Clark National Works on Paper Biennial is open to all artists 18 and older living in the United States. Submissions must be original 2D works on paper created within the last two years. Acceptable media include photography, drawings, digital media, and printmaking processes (intaglio, lithographic, photographic, relief, serigraphic and monotypes). Reproductions of pre-existing works are not eligible. Emerging artists are strongly encouraged to enter.
The entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable) and permits submission of up to three images. Images must be a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side, saved in JPEG or JPG format, with file size not exceeding 5 MB. Results will be emailed to all entrants the week of July 7–11, 2025. Accepted artworks must be received by the Alexandre Hogue Gallery at the School of Art, Design & Art History no later than August 8, 2025. The exhibition runs September 4–October 16, 2025, at the Alexandre Hogue Gallery at the University of Tulsa. Each selected work will be framed by the School of Art, Design & Art History for display. Prints must arrive matted and/or mounted in a 16 x 20, 18 x 24, 20 x 24, or 24 x 32 inch white or off-white mat.
Two Juror's Merit Awards of $500 each will be awarded and announced at the opening on September 4, 2025. Award recipients will have their 100-word artist's statement printed in the exhibition catalog. The sale of prints will be promoted with no commission taken. Return shipping costs will be covered by the University of Tulsa, with return beginning October 18, 2025. The juror is Mary Weaver Chapin, PhD, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Portland Art Museum.
