The Santo Foundation is awarding five Individual Artist Awards to celebrate its 5th Anniversary. Three individual artists will receive $5,000.00 each, juried by Marilu Knode, Executive Director of Laumeier International Sculpture Park. Two additional individual artists will receive $500.00 each through the Artist Choose Artist Award, juried by Buzz Spector, an internationally acclaimed artist and critical writer.

She served as U.S. Commissioner for the 7th International Cairo Biennale with Nancy Spero and co-founded a curatorial practice program at the American University in Cairo. She has commissioned temporary and permanent projects with artists globally and became director of Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis in 2009. Prior to this, she served as Associate Director/Head of Research at F.A.R. (Future Arts Research) at Arizona State University and as Senior Curator at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Her credits include the Institute of Visual Arts at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and she has an extensive record of lectures, panel and jury activities. She has contributed essays to Art in America, Flash Art, Tema Celeste, and other publications.

He has received the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Fellowship, and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1982, 1985, and 1991.
