About This Call
This highly regarded juried festival offers you the opportunity to present your fine art and fine crafts in an idyllic setting during the busiest time of the winter season. President's Day weekend is the pinnacle of our busy winter tourist season. Visitors from all over the world crowd Sanibel's internationally famous pristine white sand beaches, including the affluent, sophisticated art buyers you will meet at the Art Festival. Sanibel and Captiva Islands rank among the nation's top destinations for upper-income visitors and seasonal residents. The consistently high quality of the work exhibited at the Art Festival attracts knowledgeable art lovers and buyers.
This show is a fundraising project of the Rotary Club of Sanibel-Captiva conducted by a 100% volunteer crew with all net proceeds going to charity. The festival awards cash prizes to artists in several categories and provides refreshments, booth sitters, special artist parking, and other amenities. Exhibit spaces measure 10' x 10' with booth fees of $450 for single spaces and $900 for double spaces. All works of art must be original and attributable solely to the displaying artist. Artists must be present during both days of the show and during judging to be eligible for awards.
The jury process involves 6 jurors scoring applications on a 1-7 scale, with approximately 65 artists selected from an average of 175 applications. Award winners from the previous year and all previous Best in Show winners are exempt from jury. Setup is Friday February 13 from noon until 6PM EST, and Saturday 6:30AM until 8:00AM EST. Artists must check in before 8 a.m. Saturday or lose their space. No commissions are taken on sales, and artists are responsible for Florida sales tax.
