SAGE 11th Annual Juried Photography Show - Black & White

SAGE Community Arts invites photographers from across the nation to submit work to the 11th Annual National Juried Photography Show. This year's exhibition, titled Black and White, celebrates the timeless power of photography stripped down to its essential elements. From stark contrasts to subtle gradations of tone, black and white photography reveals depth, emotion, and narrative in unique ways. Submissions should explore the theme broadly—whether through landscapes, portraits, abstract compositions, or experimental approaches. The juror for this show is Alex Pigeon, an artist and arts professional who has worked at commercial art galleries in New York City since 2016, including positions at White Cube, Goodman Gallery, Yancey Richardson, and Pace/MacGill.

Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), First Prize ($750), Second Prize ($500), Third Prize ($300), and People's Choice ($150). Entry fees are $15 for SAGE members and $25 for non-members for the first photo, with each additional piece costing $5 (up to 10 total submissions). Both stages of jurying will be done blindly, with the first round conducted online. 30-35 photos will be selected for the exhibition, and artists will be notified by December 15th. Selected work must arrive at SAGE by January 13th, 2026.

All work must be original, created within the past five years, and cannot have been included in a prior SAGE Juried Photography show. Printed photos cannot exceed 36 inches in width including framing and must be exhibit-ready with proper hanging mechanisms. All accepted work must be for sale, with SAGE retaining a 35% commission for members and 40% for non-members. The show opens January 20th, 2026, with an awards reception on January 29th from 5:30-7:30pm, and closes March 7th.
