About This Call
Livermore Valley Arts presents an exhibition called Saddle, Brush and Art at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater, May 8 through July 27, 2025. This exhibition celebrates the artistry, resilience, and legacy of modern-day cowboys and cowgirls through visual and literary works, including paintings, temporary sculptures, and cowboy portraits that tell the stories of life on the range. A centerpiece of the exhibit is the Range-Life Sculpture Exhibit, located in the Bankhead Courtyard, featuring temporary sculptures created by regional artists inspired by the rugged beauty and dynamic spirit of cowboy life. A special Cowboy Poetry and Storytelling Night will bring the art to life with performances blending humor, wisdom, and reflections on the cowboy way of life.
Accepted artists must deliver work on Tuesday, May 6, 10am-noon to the gallery at 2400 First Street, Livermore. Work must be wired and ready to hang using a wires/hanging system and/or nails, with "D" hooks strongly recommended. A label should be attached to the back of each artwork listing the artist's name, title, price, and medium. Artists will be required to sign a release form upon delivery. Artwork pickup is Tuesday, July 29, 10am-noon. The gallery is open free to the public Thursday-Sundays 1-5pm and to ticketed patrons during performances. A reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 1-3pm.
Entry fee is $35. Submit 1-4 images of work. All media accepted; temporary sculpture is allowed. If artwork sells, there is a 4% credit card processing fee, then 70% goes to the artist and 30% to the gallery. Artists must complete a W-9 form for payment, which will be issued up to 30 days after the show closes. The artist is responsible for paying all sales tax. Livermore Valley Arts does not provide insurance for work that is damaged or stolen. Acceptance notifications will be sent by end of day, April 25.
