Sacred & Liturgical Art 2024

In cooperation with the Liturgical Arts Festival of Springfield (LAFS), the Springfield Art Association (SAA) will host a juried exhibition of liturgical and sacred art as part of the biennial, interfaith Liturgical Arts Festival: Come Creative Spirit. All spiritual interpretations, approaches and media are welcome. The exhibition aims to support diversity, promote understanding, and foster tolerance.

This exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States, working in all media. All submitted artwork must explore a spiritual or religious theme. Work must be original and completed in the last three years. No previously submitted work will be accepted. Each artist may submit up to three entries for consideration. A $30 non-refundable entry fee is required per artist. A written explanation of your work (up to 1,000 words) must be included with your entry. A total of $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, First, Second and Third place.

The exhibition runs May 3-31, 2024 at the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery at the Springfield Art Association. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, with cash awards presented at 5:30 pm. All accepted work must be received by 5 pm on April 24, 2024. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the SAA and must include prepaid labels for return shipping. Works may be for sale, with the SAA and LAFS sharing a 35% commission on sales. All artwork is insured while in the possession of the SAA; artists are responsible for insurance on inbound and outbound shipping. Entries must be submitted through www.callforentry.org by February 11, 2024. Notification of acceptance will be sent by February 21, 2024.
