Running Fox Park Public Art

The City of Greenwood Village seeks to purchase a piece of original public artwork for installation at Running Fox Park, 5290 S. Quebec St., Greenwood Village, CO 80111. The artwork should reflect the natural setting and solitude of the park. The proposed site is a round concrete planter nine feet in diameter, situated approximately 12 inches above the ground in the center of the park, surrounded by a walkway and benches.

Artwork must be an original creation demonstrating artistic excellence, timelessness, and permanence. Sculpture shall have structural and surface soundness, be resistant to theft, vandalism, and weathering, and require minimal maintenance. Works should be compatible in style, scale, material, form, and content with Running Fox Park and Greenwood Village, have broad appeal to the general public, and be freestanding outdoor public artwork suitable to be viewed from all angles. Works of art shall not create inordinate safety or liability problems for the general public or the City.

This opportunity is open to all artists residing in Colorado. The entry fee is $25.00. Artists may submit up to two individual works of art with up to 10 images total. Submissions must include an artist statement, resume with current contact information, and three references with current contact information, including name, phone, email address, and project scope. The total budget for this project is $20,000. The selected artist is responsible for design, fabrication, engineering services, and delivery to the site. City staff will assist with installation on-site.
