Rowan University Wilson Hall Dance Studio Public Art Commission

Rowan University is seeking to commission permanent, site-specific public artwork(s) for the Wilson Hall Dance Studio at its Main Campus in Glassboro, New Jersey. Artists are invited to submit expressions of interest for artwork that considers the building's façade, adjacent exterior areas, and/or interior spaces. The artwork should represent the programs within the College of Performing Arts and the spirit of performing arts. Artists specializing in all forms of visual art are encouraged to apply, and artists may submit individually or as a team.

The proposed budget for this project is approximately $35,000, covering all costs including design, fabrication, installation, materials, transportation, artist fees, and travel. Shortlisted artists will receive a formal request for proposals and a $1,000 stipend to offset proposal preparation costs. Selected artists will be responsible for all design, engineering, and installation within an agreed-upon timeline.

Applicants must submit a letter summarizing their interest and experience in creating public artworks, including at least 3 references from similar projects. A portfolio of up to 6 images of past works with descriptions (location, materials, date of completion) is required. Applicants must also provide contact information (phone, email, mailing address, website), a brief bio, and references from previous public projects.
