About This Call
Rowan University is seeking to commission permanent, site-specific artwork(s) for Discovery Hall, an in-development academic building on the Main Campus in Glassboro, New Jersey. The artwork will be integrated into the building's design, considering the façade, adjacent exterior area, or interior spaces. Artists may submit individual work or partner with other artists as a team. The University particularly encourages artists interested in multi-disciplinary approaches, interactivity, and science-inspired artwork that represents the programs within the School of Earth and Environment.
The proposed budget for this project is approximately $250,000, covering all costs incurred by the artist including design, fabrication, installation, materials, transportation, artist fees, and travel. Interested artists must submit an expression of interest (EOI) that includes a letter summarizing their interest and experience in public art creation, at least 3 references for similar projects, up to 6 images of past works with descriptions (location, materials, date of completion), and contact information including phone number, email, mailing address, website, and brief bio. Shortlisted artists will receive a request for proposal (RFP) and a $1,000 stipend to offset proposal preparation costs. The selected artist(s) will be responsible for all design, engineering, and installation of the artwork within an agreed upon timeline. Submissions must be made via CallForEntry.org by 5/28/20 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. For questions, contact [email protected].
