Roseville Theater Mural RFQ

This is a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a mural project on the backside of the Masonic Lodge building located at 235-245 Vernon Street in Downtown Roseville. The mural should represent the Masonic Lodge (Roseville Lodge #222) and the Roseville Theatre Arts Academy (RTAA), with reference to their presence and contribution to Roseville's history. The mural shall be of historical significance reflecting the growth and development of the City of Roseville, and should incorporate the long history, presence, and contribution of the Masons and RTAA while highlighting their organizational missions.

The Masonic Lodge building was constructed in 1925. The mural location is the primarily flat, blank rear façade of the building, with two exit doors and a small covered window. Ideally, the mural shall span as much of the rear building as possible. The project budget is $22,000. Three semifinalists will be selected by the Design Selection Committee, and each will receive a design stipend of $7,333.33. The work period for the mural is August 17 - September 15, 2023, with a target completion date of September 16, 2023.

Applicants must submit a cover letter describing their experience and interest in the project, a CV demonstrating experience in public art and previously completed public art projects, and 5-20 images of past work showing examples of large-scale public art projects and murals. Applicants must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US. Regional eligibility is required (California). The submission deadline is July 8, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
