About This Call
Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition seeks unique outdoor sculptures to enhance the picturesque coastal community of Rosemary Beach, Florida. This biennial exhibition opens in Fall 2024 and runs for one year, showcasing diverse talents and creativity of artists while complementing the stunning natural landscape. The exhibition is organized by RBSE, a nonprofit arts exhibition organization.
Experienced sculptors with documented experience in the design and construction of outdoor sculpture are invited to submit applications. Approximately ten sculptures will be selected based on quality of concept, design, and execution. Sculptures must adhere to specific design parameters: pose no risk of injury to the public, be semi-permanently fixed to a heavy base, require no maintenance, withstand all weather conditions and salt air, be safe and stable for public interaction, be viewable in-the-round, and be original works created by the artist. Any medium is acceptable, including metal, wood, stone, glass, or combinations thereof. Interactive or kinetic sculptures are welcome. Artists are responsible for transportation, installation, and removal of their sculptures, though assistance and equipment will be provided.
Application deadline is May 1, 2024. Finalists will be notified by June 1, 2024. Selected artists must deliver or ship their sculpture and assist in mounting between September 15 and October 15, 2024. The exhibition runs from October 2024 through October 2025. All selected artists receive a $3,000 honorarium upon delivery and mounting. Additional awards include $2,000 for First Place and $1,000 for Second Place. A consignment contract will outline consignment dates, value, photography policies, and insurance terms. Artists may insure their loaned works, and RBSE will issue limited insurance on exhibited works. A 30% commission fee applies to any sold sculptures. Entry fee is $8.00. Submit up to five low-resolution images of the proposed sculpture and documentation of previous outdoor sculpture projects via CaFE at CallForEntry.org.
