About This Call
Boulder Creek Neighborhoods and the Rogers Farm HOA are accepting applications for a site-specific sculptural public art feature(s) to be located at two small adjacent pocket parks in Superior, CO. Creatives working in three-dimensional sculptural design are eligible to apply for this commission. The maximum budget allocated for this project is $42,000.
This public art project opportunity operates through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process. Applicants must submit up to six digital images of previously commissioned public art sculptural projects (no more than 2 images per project), a corresponding list describing the images with dimensions, title, year, material description, and budget, a resume demonstrating experience with commissioned site-specific public art designs, and a letter of interest. The vision of the Rogers Farm Public Art Project is to feature a site-specific public art feature that defines the neighborhood while referencing the area's history. The design feature will highlight the long view looking west toward the mountain range and east towards Downtown Superior. The site-specific design commission may be a singular or series of sculpture pieces incorporating unique and creative design elements. Themes could embody a modern spin on the Town's history, western culture, or Superior's geographical gateway location. Sculptural feature(s) cannot incorporate nor impede upon the grassy areas of the pocket parks.
Eligibility: All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents at least 18 years of age. Eligible applicants include public artists, sculptors, architects, or landscape architects working in three-dimensional design. Applicants may apply as individuals or as creative teams and must demonstrate experience with site-specific design. The selection panel will narrow down candidates to no more than three semi-finalists who will be invited to participate in the RFP process. Semi-finalists will be paid a $1,000 stipend to prepare and present a proposal. The selected creative/creative team will enter into a contract agreement with the Town of Superior and must carry general liability insurance of $1 million.
