About This Call
The Rhode Island Watercolor Society presents a national watermedia exhibition open to all artists in the United States. The show will take place physically in the gallery in Pawtucket and online. Entry deadline is June 24, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $25 for non-members and $20 for members (use code riwsmember at checkout).
Eligibility requirements: Work must have been completed within the last 10 years and may not exceed 42 inches on its longest side including frame. Work must not be copied from copyrighted material or partially or wholly painted by another artist. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, water-based ink, casein, egg tempera, and other water-based mediums. Up to 20% of the work may include line & wash, watercolor pencils, collage (waterbased), charcoal, graphite, wax accents and resists, water-based monotypes and mono prints, and embossing. Unacceptable media include pastels, colored pencil (other than watercolor pencil), fabrics, digital media, oil paints, photography, and 3D media. Work must be presented professionally in a frame under glass or Plexiglas with white or off-white mats preferred.
Submit 1-3 digital images of your work. Work must be the same as represented in digital images with no alterations. Only submit work you are willing to drop off or ship to the gallery. If work is sold, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition.
