About This Call
The Rhode Island Watercolor Society presents the National Watermedia Show 2022, open to all artists in the United States. The exhibition will take place physically in the gallery in Pawtucket and online. Submit 1-3 images with a $25 entry fee for non-members or $20 for members (use code riwsmember for discount).
Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, water-based ink, casein, egg tempera, and other water-based media. Up to 20% of work may incorporate line & wash, watercolor pencils, collage (waterbased), charcoal, graphite, wax accents and resists, water-based monotypes and mono prints, or embossing. Unacceptable media include pastels, colored pencil, fabrics, digital media, oil paints, photography, and 3D media. Work must be completed within the last 10 years, not exceed 42 inches on its longest side (including frame), and must not be copied from copyrighted material or painted by another artist. Work may be listed as not for sale (NFS) by contacting the gallery. Framed work must be under glass or Plexiglas and presented professionally with no visible wire or hangers.
Work must be the same as represented in digital images with no alterations. Only submit work you are willing to drop off or ship to the gallery. Work previously exhibited in other RIWS shows is acceptable except for other Annual National Watermedia Shows. If work is sold, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. Contact [email protected] for membership information or visit riws.org.
