Riverwalk Center Garage Mural

Business for the Arts of Broward seeks a professional muralist or artist team to create an original mural on an exterior parking garage wall located at 150 Southeast Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. The mural wall is 20 feet wide by 65 feet high. The mural design should not contain any profanity, political messages, or controversial content.

Total project budget is $30,000, with $29,000 allocated for the mural. Three selected finalists will each receive a $500 honorarium to create a detailed proposal. The mural budget includes all costs associated with designing and installing the mural, including artist fees, site visits, design, materials, fabrication, site access (scaffolding, lift, etc.), installation, insurance, permitting, travel, transportation, graffiti coating, maintenance plan, and consultant or subcontractor fees.

Applicants must submit 8-10 work samples highlighting past projects of similar scope, a bio or artist statement, and a resume or CV highlighting past projects of similar scope. All materials must be submitted via the CaFÉ online application system. There is no application fee. This project is open to all professional mural artists living in Florida. Entry deadline is June 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Finalists will be notified June 21, with finalist proposals due July 8. Project award date is August 8, with installation scheduled for September 1 or pending artist availability.
