River Market Regional Exhibition

The Kansas City Artists Coalition presents the River Market Regional Exhibition, running July 8 – August 19, 2011. The exhibition is open to artists who are current residents of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Entries must be original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition's Galleries. All media is eligible, though work requiring special installation will be accepted only if the artist is available to install on June 30. Video artists should submit still images online and mail a DVD to RMRE, Kansas City Artists Coalition, 201 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Entry fee is $20 for the first entry, with $10 for each additional entry up to 5 total entries. Artists must submit 1-5 images online through CaFÉ at www.CallForEntry.org. The submission deadline is May 20, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of acceptance beginning June 2. Accepted works may be hand delivered June 22-25 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., or shipped prepaid and delivered June 15-17. The opening reception is July 8, 5-8 p.m. Hand delivered work must be picked up by August 20, 4 p.m., or shipped work will be returned August 22-26.

Juror Dr. Patricia McDonnell, Director of the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University, will select award-winning artists. $2,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. Artists who have received 2 or more awards may enter but are not eligible for an award. An illustrated catalog with an essay by Dr. McDonnell will be published and sent to all entrants. The Artists Coalition will take 30% commission on work sold from the exhibition. The Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition; artists are responsible for insurance during shipment. Optional membership discount available for artists who join or renew by May 11, 2011.
