About This Call
The River Clay Fine Arts Festival takes place October 24-26, 2025 in Decatur, Alabama, featuring 75-80 professional artists in an outdoor fine art show. The event includes a ticketed Patron Preview Friday evening from 5-9 pm, followed by the main festival on Saturday and Sunday. Application fee is $175 for 10x10 spaces and $350 for 10x20 spaces (limited availability). The festival accepts emerging artists and requires 4 images plus a booth shot for application.
Located on the Decatur City Hall campus surrounded by Alabama's largest Victorian historic district, the festival offers numerous artist amenities including indoor restrooms, air-conditioned hospitality center, free breakfast and lunch for artists and one assistant both days, volunteer assistance for load-in and load-out, close free parking, and booth sitters. The event features a Patron Program and River Clay Cash funds dedicated to artist purchases. Only white canopies/tents are permitted, and generators are not allowed.
Artists must be present during the entire festival and personally staff their exhibit space. The event is rain or shine with no early departures permitted. Multiple media categories are accepted including ceramics, digital art, drawing, electronic art, fiber, glass, and jewelry, with each requiring separate applications. The festival maintains a blind jury process and emphasizes high-quality work with no buy-sell items permitted.
