About This Call
Every year, Rockport Center for the Arts hosts a statewide, juried exhibition for undergraduate and graduate students emerging in the visual arts. Cash prizes are awarded for first, second and third place: $500 for First prize, $300 for Second prize, and $200 for Third prize. Thanks to a generous donation from the Christopher and Jessica Giesey - Rising Eyes of Texas Scholarship Fund, submission fees are now just $5 for up to three artwork submissions.
All student artists in Texas age 18 and over who are currently enrolled at a university, college, community college or technical school in the state are eligible. Each artist may submit up to three entries, and works must not be larger than 72 inches. All media are accepted for entry. Artists must state the final sale price upon submission, and sale price cannot be changed. The deadline for submissions is January 8, 2026, with notification of acceptance sent by January 15th, 2026.
The exhibition runs February 27 through March 29, 2026, with a public reception and presentation of awards on March 14, 2026. Accepted 2D artworks must be ready to hang for formal gallery presentation with all necessary hardware and must have D-rings or wire attached prior to delivery. Artists will receive 60% of the sale price, and the Rockport Center for the Arts will receive 40% in support of administrative costs.
