RISD Northern California Alumni Biennial 2008

The RISD Northern California Alumni Biennial 2008 is open to all RISD alumni, regardless of major or year of graduation, who live and/or work in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Joaquin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo. Artists may be asked to verify their eligibility.

Each artist may submit three works of art. For three-dimensional works, an additional detail image may be included for a maximum of three detail images in addition to the images for individual artworks. The dimensions of accepted works should not exceed 8' x 8' x 8'. All materials must be submitted online in digital format. All pieces must be original and made by the artist. Work must be available for the period of the exhibition and must be in suitable condition for exhibition. Artists must provide all equipment necessary for the exhibition of their artwork and are responsible for arranging delivery and insurance of work to and from the exhibition. Accepted artists agree that RISD can use images of their work for print and electronic promotional activity.

The entry fee is $25 (non-refundable). The curator is Rene de Guzman, Senior Curator at Oakland Museum of California. The exhibition will be held at Oakland Art Gallery, 199 Kahn's Alley in Oakland, CA 94612. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Thursday 11 am-6 pm, Friday 11 am-5 pm, and Saturday 12 pm-4 pm. The exhibition runs March 4–26, 2008, with an opening reception on March 4, 2008. Work is due at the gallery February 27, 2008. Sales split 60% to the artist and 40% to the gallery.
